Sahil is a shy, stout and studious fellow of tenth class, who loves reading books and writing poems. His elder brother, on the other hand, is an extrovert guy who is famous in his school, and wins the much talked about Principal’s Award. When he taunts and teases his brother Sahil for being such a bookworm, Sahil decides to work for the award and strive for it. His quest starts once he becomes confident of himself, thanks to the motivation from Rahul, his friend as well as competitor. On the other hand, Pooh, Sahil’s best friend wants to be more than just friends, unaware of the fact that Sahil too wanted the same thing. While their common friend Anita falls in love with Zafar, a guy 7 years older than them. With much perseverance and lot of conspiracy, Sahil gets all that he wants- he and Pooh become more than just friends, Sahil becomes the President of the Student’s Council, gets first rank in his class, and wins lots of competitions. But his neophyte’s serendipity doesn’t last long. When Sahil’s dad is rendered jobless due to family feuds, and his family is finding it hard to meet the ends, he is removed from the post of President. His computer teacher tries to get physical with him and starts blackmailing him, while Anita breaks up with Zafar and commits suicide. Anita’s last wish was to know whether Zafar loved her ever or not. All this happen when Sahil gets very close to getting the award. The climax of the story is when Sahil tries to solve all the problems, albeit one by one. Few things he is able to rectify, few things are beyond repair.
