Book Description

With his signature blend of suspense and science, Robin Cook delivers an electrifying page-turner that delves into the murky ethics of developing genomic medicine and modern-day health care... As her relationship with Dr. Jack Stapleton begins to unravel, Dr. Laurie Montgomery starts investigating the inexplicable deaths of young, healthy people after successful routine surgery. She discovers that the deaths might be intentional—the work of a remarkably clever serial killer with a shocking motive. And then Laurie is hit with more devastating news: she might be carrying the genetic marker for breast cancer. As the need for answers becomes more urgent, Laurie is pulled into the nightmare as a potential victim herself. With time winding down, she and Jack must put aside the tensions between them in a race to connect the dots—and save Laurie’s life...

Dinner at Jack's

Book Description

Personal chef Beau St. Clair, recently divorced from his cheating husband, returns to the small Ohio River town where he grew up to lick his wounds. Jack Rogers lives with his mother, Maisie, in that same small town, angry at and frightened by the world. Jack has a gap in his memory that hides something he dares not face, and he’s probably suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Maisie, seeking relief from her housebound and often surly son, hires Beau to cook for Jack, hoping the change might help bring Jack, once a handsome and vibrant attorney, back to his former self. But can a new face and comfort food compensate for the terror lurking in Jack’s past? Slowly the two men begin a dance of revelation and healing. Food and compassion build a bridge between Beau and Jack, a bridge that might lead to love. But will Jack’s demons allow it? His history could just as easily tear them apart as bring them together.

Along for the Ride

Book Description

Along for the Ride is an anthology gleaned over the years from a collection of assorted kinfolk, friends and critters. Part One of the book features Bipeds I Have Known and Loved, most of whom are part of the collection of Siblings, Cousins, Moms and Grandmas, Aunts, (thats not Ants, its Aunts), Uncles and their significant (or perhaps not so significant ) others that comprise our talented, happily zany Family. It is drawn from the lore surrounding kith and kin that persists and is sometimes even (gasp) embroidered upon especially when cousins are gathered in the family circle, tellin tales and swappin lies, well-lubricated by Sister Skits mint julep recipe. Part the Second has to do with my years as young Wife and Mom, and my very rocky evolution into Housewife. Sprinkled through Parts One and Two are an assortment of Friends and Neighbors, some fascinating of themselves, some having a couple of endearingly loose screws that make them fine grist for this mill. Part the Third is about Quadrupeds I Have Known and Loved, with an occasional nod to the Avian Set and even to a No-Ped I have become attached to, aka Big Jim, the Esther Williams of the herpetological set. Hope youll join me and come Along for the Ride.
