Excerpt from A Digest of the Ordinances of the Corporation of the City of Pittsburgh, and of the Acts of Assembly Relating Thereto, 1845 IV; That so much of the second section of a law passed the eighteenth day of March, eighteen hundred and sixteen, relating to the classification of the members of the select council of the city of Pittsburgh, shall be so altered, as that the seats of the first class that will be vacated on the first Tuesday of January next, shall be filled by the election of one from each ward, as is provided in the second section of this act; and the seats of the second class, whose seats will be vacated on the first Tuesday of January, eighteen hundred and thirty-five, shall be filled by the election of four per sons, agreeably to the aforesaid second section; and the seats of the third class, whose seats will be vacated on the first Tuesday of January, eigh teen hundred and thirty-six, shall be filled by the election of four persons, agreeable to the said second section of the said act. V. That so much of the existing laws of this commonwealth as are hereby altered, be, and the same, and no more, are hereby repealed.
