Pearlie was having a busy day looking after the park when a ladybird appeared with a message in its little bag. The message scroll, decorated with scarlet tassels and written on silvery paper, said: 'Her Majesty Queen Emerald - most magical monarch of Fairyland - will visit Jubilee Park today at dusk for a very important announcement.' How exciting! And, the ladybird said that Queen Emerald wanted to have supper with Pearlie in her famous pink shell. Even more magical! When Opal heard about the visit she guessed that the queen planned to crown Pearlie FAIRY of the YEAR. But, of course, the naughty rats and jealous Sapphire heard about the visit and plotted to make as much trouble as possible. And they certainly did! -- Publisher description.

A gripping novel about history’s most infamous family—The Borgias—and an innocent girl pulled into their treacherous rise to power, from the New York Times bestselling author of The Alice Network and The Diamond Eye. Rome, 1492. The Holy City is drenched with blood and teeming with secrets. A pope lies dying and the throne of God is left vacant, a prize awarded only to the most virtuous—or the most ruthless. The Borgia family begins its legendary rise, chronicled by an innocent girl who finds herself drawn into their dangerous web… Vivacious Giulia Farnese has floor-length golden hair and the world at her feet: beauty, wealth, and a handsome young husband. But she is stunned to discover that her glittering marriage is a sham, and she is to be given as a concubine to the ruthless, charismatic Cardinal Borgia: Spaniard, sensualist, candidate for Pope—who is passionately in love with her. Two trusted companions will follow her into the Pope's shadowy harem: Leonello, a cynical bodyguard bent on bloody revenge against a mysterious killer, and Carmelina, a fiery cook with a past full of secrets. But as corruption thickens in the Vatican and the enemies begin to circle, Giulia and her friends will need all their wits to survive in the world of the Borgias.

Park Rose is a story based on actual events that occurred in my life growing up. I titled the book Park Rose because Park Rose was a street I lived on in Duarte, California, a very nice, quiet neighborhood in the Monrovia area. Our house wasn't right in the middle of the neighborhood, but I'm sure all the screams and sounds coming from that house made it the center of the neighborhood attention. I will never forget the things that occurred on Park Rose and in my life thereafter. God has brought me a might long way. Without God, I know I would not be here being able to share my testimony with you all. I also wanted to make awareness to mental illness. Enduring through years of abuse, my mother was not able to care for us appropriately anymore. She is not able to care for herself today. Abuse doesn't just end when the abuse stops; it continues for years without the proper help.
