The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DOD FAR Supplement establish the property administrator's responsibilities regarding missing government property. When government property is found to be missing, the property administrator must review pertinent facts surrounding the lost to determine the contractor's liability, if any, and recommend a course of action for the contracting officer.
