AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series. Volume 7. Strain Gauge Measurements on Aircraft

Book Description

The AGARDograph is the seventh of the AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series, and is intended to give the test engineer a comprehensive description of the different aspects of strain and load measurement on aircraft. These measurements are outstanding importance as they are the only practical means of determining material stresses during ground and flight tests.

AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series. Volume 12. Aircraft Flight Test Data Processing. A Review of the State of the Art

Book Description

This volume describes the application of data processing systems to produce data in support of flight testing. The generalized techniques are appropriate to large test centers which support multiple testing programs simultaneously. The concepts, however, are as equally valid for a single test program using a dedicated data processing system. Starting from a discussion of data sources, the text proceeds to a review of the considerations required prior to data processing. A simplified discussion of two major components of data processing - hardware and software - follows. The volume then looks at the third major component of data processing - the people to make it work. The data processing in support of flight testing is described according to processing functions. An attempt is then made to identify potential problem areas. (Author).

AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series. Volume 1, Issue 2. Basic Principles of Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering (Introduction Generale Aux Principles de Base de L'Instrumentation Des Essais en Vol).

Book Description

Since the publication of this volume about 15 years ago, the AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series - to which this Volume 1 is the introduction - has grown to 18 volumes covering many important aspects in the field of flight test engineering. This introductory volume has been extensively and successfully used as an introduction to flight test for those just starting in this field and as a reference volume for courses and symposia. When it was decided that it should be updated, it was decided to retain as much as possible the qualities that were liked in the first edition. The Main Division into three parts of this first edition has been retained: (1) General considerations about the design of a flight test instrumentation system; (2) Design of a single measuring system; and (3) Design of multi-channel instrumentation systems.

AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series. Volume 8. Linear and Angular Position Measurement of Aircraft Components

Book Description

This AGARDograph is the 8th of the AGARD Flight Test Instrumentation Series and concentrates on the flight test instrumentation for determining the position of movable aircraft components such as rudder, elevator and aileron surfaces, wing flaps, trim tabs, speed brakes, spoilers, power-control levers, elements of nosewheel-steering systems and of landing gear mechanisms, etc. The sensitivity and frequency responses of the various systems used for making these measurements are discussed in the following groups with examples potentiometers, synchros, inductive systems, and digital systems.
