Book Description

The book is a compilation of military service members from the Camden, Tennessee area who served in World War I and II. Beneath portraits of the service members are their dates of service, branch of service, where they served, any awards, whether wounded, and date of death or discharge. For those with no portrait and insufficient information available, there is a list of names.The book also includes photos of military funerals, a list of Camden churches, photos of high school teams, clubs, and events, photos from the Sorghum Festival and the county fair, and photos of surrounding scenery. The book concludes with lists of local dignitaries, including the mayor and aldermen for Camden in 1948 and a brief history of Benton county, Tennessee. Advertisemtns for local businesses in 1948 fill the last pages of the book.
