This brings the 1891 figures up to Rs. -15-1, and the 1901 figures up to Rs. -4-2, which gives Rs. 12-7-4 per thousand in 1891 against Rs. 18-5-5 per thousand at the present census. Enumeration and superintendence show an increase in the expenditure as compared with 1891, while' abstraction and compilation show a decrease.
