My First 50 Chinese Characters Coloring Book is book one of the children's book series featuring early language learning, bilingual education, and pre-writing content in Mandarin Chinese for kid's in fun and kid-friendly formats. This coloring book is ideal for kid's early exposure to language and literacy in Chinese. The pages spotlight a large, common (simplified) Chinese character that has fun designs for coloring. Additionally, the stroke order of each character is included so that children and caregivers can learn the proper form of writing each character. There is ample writing practice space included after each coloring page. Of the 50 words in this book, 43 of them are some of the most common characters in the language. The final seven are words of encouragement and inspiration for kids to build a sense of empowerment through their learning. This book (book 1) contains English translations, Pinyin, and pictures are used to assist in learning the characters and words. Kids may color the large character on one page, then on the next page, they may practice writing the characters while following the stroke order rules. Learning and practicing proper stroke order will help you build muscle memory while writing Chinese characters. The more you practice the more fluid and natural your writing will become. This book was designed while considering children who live in primarily English-speaking countries and/or regions where there may be limited daily and authentic exposure to Chinese characters. Mandarin Chinese is spoken by over 955 million native speakers worldwide (that's more than any other language!).
