Book Description
An examination was made of the utilization of the effective moment parameter, that has been used for many years, in relation to a recently devised procedure that involves the concept of an effective angle of attack for the nonlinear motion history being analyzed. This procedure provides an approximate direct relationship between an effective moment parameter measurement and its parent nonlinear moment curve, for a large family of nonlinearities. Both the additional use of the effective moment parameter values and the restraints in their utilization are discussed in relation to small amplitude, large amplitude, and out-of-plane modes of testing.
