Letters discuss the prospects and results of the fur trade and the work of company factors, laborers, and Indians to that end; plans for experiments with whaling and exploration to the north of Eastmain; and problems and logistics of everyday existence -- provisions, manpower, equipment, etc. Also mentioned is the encroachment of settlers on company lands.
