We also desire to express our appreciation of the kindness of those who interested themselves in the literary portion of the book, and con tributed towards its success. Realizing that there is an unavoidable element of sameness in each consecutive volume of the epitome, due to the statistical portions which are a necessary factor in every college annual, we have endeavored to relieve any possible monotony resulting therefrom, by the introduction of features which we hope will add to the general attractiveness and value of the book.
