The Task Force was formed by a Memorandum of Co-operation among British Columbia, the states on the United States west coast, and Hawaii. Task Force members represent key marine oil spill prevention & response agencies from these jurisdiction. This report reviews the year's activities of the Task Force in the areas of spill prevention, spill preparedness & response projects, and communication, and also summarizes member agency activities & accomplishments.

Book Description

This report is the result of 4 months of public hearings in the coastal communities of British Columbia over the summer of 1989 on recommendations to reduce marine oil spill risks and to improve response capability. The report considers the problems of oil transportation and oil spills without regard for questions of jurisdiction. Prevention, response and compensation for damage are discussed.
