Historic & Highlighted Barns of Clearfield & Jefferson Counties

Book Description

"In Historic and highlighted barns of Clearfield & Jefferson counties, we look at barns with: well known family names, those related to our heritage, making headlines, stories to tell, built by the Amish and barns that just have that rustic appeal and country charm you find driving down a country road. Every barn has a story to tell; and this volume is full of interesting ones. Our area has a rich heritage of the family farm with many staying in the family for a century or more. The rolling hills of the Continental Divide created the perfect landscape for the traditional timber framed bank barn; many of which have survived the harsh winters and are still standing today. The 120 scrapbook style pages of this book features and highlights over 140 barns, from the authors rural countryside of Clearfield and Jefferson counties in Western Pennsylvania."--Page 4 of cover.
