Horst P. Horst(1906-99) was one of the 20th century's master photographers. He launched his career in the melting pot of 1930s Paris, where he befriended such influential figures as Coco Chanel and Salvador Dalí and began his lifelong association with Vogue. Over the next 60 years Horst established his international reputation through his work in Vogueand other magazines, including Vanity Fairand House & Garden. His photography has been the subject of major exhibitions including Horst: A Retrospectiveat the International Center of Photography (1996) and Horst: Photographer of Styleat the Victoria and Albert Museum (2014-15).
