Welcome! The idea for this little guide came to me as I pondered the incredible pace of modern life. There are the stresses of the 24-hour news cycle, wars, geopolitical strife, the threats of global warming, pollution of the air, food sources, and oceans, the daily stress of finances, kids, bills, and in between all of those things, we try to find time for the gym, eating properly, and making time for the people we love. Most of us fall into bed far too late at night, get too little sleep, and we're up at the crack of dawn to begin the cycle anew, sleep deprived, stressed, and drained, our tempers shorter, our resilience diminished, and our immune system taking the hit. If we attend Sunday services, a good many of us spend the time thinking of things that we need to get done around the house in preparation for the coming week. About the only time we get a break is when our bodies say, "Enough!" and land us flat on our backs, sick in bed.
