INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & BIOINFORMATICS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCE IT, ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT SACAIM - 2023, VOLUME – 1

Book Description

Whiteflies pose a significant threat to agricultural productivity worldwide, causing damage to crops and economic losses. In this study, we present an Android-based whiteflies detection system utilizing deep learning techniques, specifically leveraging the YOLOv5 algorithm. The objective is to create a robust and efficient solution capable of real-time whitefly detection in agricultural fields. The proposed system capitalizes on the powerful capabilities of YOLOv5, a state-of-the-art object detection algorithm, known for its accuracy and speed.

It describes the developments of molecular and cellular biology techniques, and statistical and computational methods, including artificial intelligence, for biomedical applications, covers key public/occupational health issues and reports on cutting-edge neuroengineering techniques. Gathering the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on The Development of Biomedical Engineering in Vietnam, BME 8, 2020, Vietnam, the book offers important answers to current challenges in the field and a source of inspiration for scientists, engineers, and researchers with various backgrounds working in different research institutes, companies, and countries.

New Approach for Drug Repurposing Part A

Book Description

New approach for drug repurposing represents drug discovery and development which is a tedious process that requires 10-15 years of time, investments up to $1-2 billion, and have high risk of failure to enter into market for clinical applications. As the drugs has to pass through number of developmental phase, the likelihood for a drug to be approved from phase I clinical trial to United States of Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approval is less than 10%. More than 90% of drugs failed in due to toxicity, efficacy and clinical trials. Drug repurposing is one of the roadway to accelerating drug discovery and development for treating disease and thus to providing better quality of life. This volume covers an overview of drug repurposing, novel methods, mechanism of action, lab on chip for drug repurposing, computational biology, system biology, artificial intelligence and machine learning for drug repurposing, target identification, target mining, high throughput drug screening, clinical trial of repurposed drug, repurposed biologics, and regulatory consideration and intellectual property right of repurposed drug. This volume highlights a number of aspects of the drug repurposing that can help the basic understanding of students, researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to perform their research with great interest. - To offer drug repurposing, novel methods, mechanism of action, lab on chip for drug repurposing, - To offer computational biology, system biology, artificial intelligence and machine learning for drug repurposing, - To offer high throughput drug screening, clinical trial of repurposed drug, repurposed biologics, and regulatory consideration

Biomedical Sensors

Book Description

Sensors are the eyes, ears, and more, of the modern engineered product or system- including the living human organism. This authoritative reference work, part of Momentum Press's new Sensors Technology series, edited by noted sensors expert, Dr. Joe Watson, will offer a complete review of all sensors and their associated instrumentation systems now commonly used in modern medicine. Readers will find invaluable data and guidance on a wide variety of sensors used in biomedical applications, from fluid flow sensors, to pressure sensors, to chemical analysis sensors. New developments in biomaterials- based sensors that mimic natural bio-systems will be covered as well. Also featured will be ample references throughout, along with a useful Glossary and symbols list, as well as convenient conversion tables.
