Module Simulation Exercise

Book Description

The Ministry of Health, Malaysia (MOH) and the Department of Veterinary Services, Malaysia (DVS) have been holding annual field simulation exercises since 2006, focusing on outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) involving multiple stakeholders. This exercise is designed to facilitate understanding as well as to review the applicability of SOPs and relevant guidelines in the management of HPAI outbreak. It further aims to identify the strengths and opportunities for improvement in all aspects of outbreak management. This module is an example of possible scenarios of the exercise that depicts a hypothetical outbreak of avian influenza amongst poultry, either commercial or backyard. While there are several specific objectives, the general objective is to enhance and strengthen interagency preparedness and response to HPAI outbreak at all levels.

Systems Modeling and Simulation: Theory and Applications

Book Description

This book constitutes the refereed post-proceedings of the third Asian Simulation Conference, AsiaSim 2004, held in Jeju Island, Korea in October 2004. The 78 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited keynote papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 178 submissions; after the conference, the papers went through another round of revision. The papers are organized in topical sections on modeling and simulation methodology, manufacturing, aerospace simulation, military simulation, medical simulation, general applications, network simulation and modeling, e-business simulation, numerical simulation, traffic simulation, transportation, virtual reality, engineering applications, and DEVS modeling and simulation.

FMD simulation exercise RUTA 2020: Report on the Foot and Mouth Disease simulation exercise conducted in 2019 by the Nordic-Baltic Veterinary Contingency Group

Book Description

Available online: http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:norden:org:diva-6040 The simulation exercise on Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) conducted by the Nordic-Baltic Veterinary Contingency Group (NBVCG) took place in Vilnius, Lithuania. The aim of the simulation exercise was to prepare and conduct an FMD emergency vaccination plan and exit strategy, as well as to prepare and conduct the stamping-out of large herds. The evaluation report recommended that the experience gained of killing and disposal from the ASF outbreak in the Baltic countries should be shared with the other countries. In-country training, workshops and simulation exercises are recommended in order to maintain a high level of awareness of FMD, contingency plans and the ability of stakeholders to respond. It was further recommended that a detailed vaccination implementation plan should be developed.

The initial printing of Miller's Anesthesia, 9e contained a dosage error in chapter 26, "Intravenous Drug Delivery Systems," on page 771, Table 26.5 (Manual Infusion Schemes). A maintenance infusion of Dexmedetomidine was mistakenly reported as 0.3 – 0.7 mcg/kg/min instead of 0.3 – 0.7 mcg/kg/hr (or 0.005-0.015 mcg/kg/min). As of October 2, 2020 all stock has been corrected. If you find that you have a book with this error please contact publisher for correction sticker.
