This way she could teach boys and girls how to properly take care of their teeth and no one would ever know she was "the real tooth fairy!" In 1989, Lori Welch Wilson followed her passion and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Alamance Community College, Burlington, North Carolina. She has been a pediatric dental assistant for 27 years and has been "The Tooth Fairy" for 18 years of her dental career. "Working with children has brought so much joy to my life.
