This study provides evidence that workers' universities in Yugoslavia during their approximately twenty-five years of existence have been flexible, dynamic, non-formal, non-didactic, innovative, and increasingly oriented to workers' life problems. This document focuses on the early setting; workers' universities from 1952-1956, 1957-1964, and 1965-1969; the recession, 1969- 1972; and the recovery and transformation period for workers' universities, 1972-78.
