Norwegian Mountains to Minnesota Farmland: Immigrant letters and friendship book 1869-1922

Book Description

These two volumes examine Norwegian life and immigration through a study of primarily the extended Lie/Lee family. In the first volume, the author focused on 298 ancestors and family members, most of whom lived in the historical district of Sogn, Norway and several of whom immigrated to Minnesota. The second volume contains 67 letters that were written and sent back to the Lie Farm by first-time corresponding immigrants. The second part of the volume is a friendship autograph book of Rannai [Fosse] Lee. Images are included as well as historical and sociological discussions of each item.
