Book Description
Raised by loving parents, Tammie Evans uses the power of prayer to guide her through challenges. As a child, she had often watched her mother pray. She became curious and asked her mother, "Why do you pray this way?" Her mother's response made her aware of the goodness of God. Her mother also explained that forgiveness is necessary, and it must be applied at times. As Tammie grew, she always remembered what her mother taught her about prayer and forgiveness. Living in Queens, New York, Tammie becomes a single mother and works as many as three jobs to raise her son, Leroy. Little Leroy, as Tammie calls him, experiences difficulty in school while often being teased by his peers. Little Leroy, like any other child, yearns to blend in with his friends. In doing so, Leroy eagerly and fearlessly faces challenges that lead him to a place with no one to blame. Throughout the difficulties, Tammie prays to give thanks, and she maintains her faith in God. Faced with challenges, Tammie recalls her mother's lessons and uses these as tools to see her through tough times.
