Book Description

Excerpt from Stratigraphy of Unconsolidated Sediments in the Southern Part of Lake Michigan Underlying the Lake Michigan Formation is a series of glacial lacustrine deposits, including sand, sandy pebbly clay, silt, and clay pebble conglomerate. These deposits are more compact, coarser grained, and contain less water than those of the Lake Michigan Formation. They show the direct effect of nearby glaciers. The glacial-lacustrine deposits are assigned to the Carmi Member of the Equality Formation and overlie glacial tills that are assigned to the wadsworth Member of the Wedron Formation.
