The doctrine of purgatory is held by all ancient religions, but only denied more recently by some. Some would have us believe there is only Heaven and Hell. Others would have us believe that there is only Heaven. And still others as if there is no life after death at all. Evidence is presented to prove that many, not just Catholics, believe and have believed that there is a place of purgation before entering into eternal happiness. After this presentation the Christian doctrine of Purgatory is presented, beginning with the Fathers of the Church, continuing even with some Protestants.St. Alphonsus writes: “a single bad book will be sufficient to cause the destruction of a monastery.” Pope Pius XII wrote in 1947 at the beatification of Blessed Maria Goretti: “There rises to Our lips the cry of the Saviour: 'Woe to the world because of scandals!' (Matthew 18:7). Woe to those who consciously and deliberately spread corruption-in novels, newspapers, magazines, theaters, films, in a world of immodesty!” We at St. Pius X Press are calling for a crusade of good books.
