Less of More

Book Description

The US Constitution guarantees the right to the pursuit of happiness. But for most Americans, what this really means is the pursuit of more--more money, more prestige, more stuff. We've made idols out of innovation, growth, power, and wealth. Far from offering us happiness and satisfaction, this relentless pursuit of more has only left us exhausted, isolated, miserable, and wondering if there is a better way. There is. Less of More exposes the American pursuit of more for what it truly is: an attempt to satisfy our souls with the temporary instead of the eternal. Pastor and writer Chris Nye invites us to consider what a full and abundant life looks like apart from money, status, and power. He exposes the lies inherent in our obsession with growth, fame, and wealth, and calls us to a countercultural life marked by connection, obscurity, vulnerability, and generosity. For anyone who has gained the world but lost their soul, Less of More offers a compelling path toward a life of true, deep, lasting satisfaction with Jesus--not us--at the center of it.

Receive Your Miracle Now

Book Description

"I encourage anyone who wants to have a better grounding in the biblical, historical, and theological basis for believing in the continuation of the gifts-especially gift of healing-to make this a part of his or her library. This book is not milk; it is meat." —Randy Clark Jesus brought people into direct contact with the power and authority of God. Every healing and miracle revealed the glory of God and the reality of His kingdom. Jesus gave the disciples authority to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom, to heal the sick, and to deliver the oppressed. Receive Your Miracle Now presents a strong argument for the legitimacy of a Christian healing ministry in today's church. By studying key passages of Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments, examining the thread of healing throughout church history, and presenting a theological basis for healing and deliverance ministry, Bob Sawvelle demonstrates that through the healing gifts Jesus is still glorified, the sick are still healed, the oppressed are still freed, and God's kingdom advances in the earth, as it ever has.

Inside the Atheist Mind

Book Description

"There is only one way to deal with bullies, even in this politically correct world—and that is to crush them." USA Today bestselling author Anthony DeStefano is tired of playing nice. After years of responding patiently and agreeably to the pseudo-intellectual arguments and tactics of today’s militant atheists, he’s had enough. In this entertaining, no-holds-barred retort to atheism and its proponents, DeStefano reveals the intellectual bankruptcy at atheism’s core and equips believers to respond to its hollow arguments. A witty and devastating takedown of the "new atheist" position, Inside the Atheist Mind systematically debunks the theories of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and others, revealing how inconsistent, illogical, and frankly ludicrous their conclusions truly are. Poking fun at atheists in a clever and intelligent way, DeStefano demonstrates just how full of holes the new atheism is and reveals that it is actually a "religion" of its own, complete with a creed, a set of commandments and sacraments, and a rigid moral code with rewards and punishments. More than that, DeStefano exposes that atheism is itself a "superstition" of the worst kind. Using irony and a healthy dose of playful sarcasm, Inside the Atheist Mind lampoons, teases, and deflates the atheist position, unmasking it for what it is--an empty, intellectually barren philosophy, devoid of any logic and common sense.

The Practical Expression of the Church

Book Description

Witness Lee speaks of the church in The Practical Expression of the Church, not only from the viewpoint of God’s eternal purpose, which is the church triumphant and universal, but also from the viewpoint of the believers’ experience and enjoyment of the riches of Christ, which produces a local expression of the church, an expression that displays the oneness of the Body of Christ and brings in God’s commanded blessing (Psalm 133).

Seed Planted on Good Ground

Book Description

What happens to seed when planted in fertile soil? In a natural sense when a farmer plants seed in fertile soil, he expects his crop to yield fruit according to the seed planted. The soil was chosen by the farmer as was the seed. When a farmer plants he expects the seed to germinate and grow and eventually produce fruit. Fruit that could be counted for some hundred, some sixty, and some thirty. God who we can say is the farmer has chosen the soil and called it "good ground" meaning as a believer "I was predestined". "He predestined us to be adapted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will" Ephesians 1:5 (KJV). Similar It was the pleasure and will of plant seed, in his chosen soil, expecting to yield fruit. So, Jesus chooses the same analogy for those who are called, choosing to plant his "word" on the fertile soil "me" and every other believer. The book will contain how the word of God which is seed has grown and will continue to grow as it bears more fruit. Even as the farmer expects to yield fruit because of his investment "labor" so does Father God expect for every believer to yield him a return, and the return is fruiting some hundred, and some sixty, and some thirty. The Father in Faith expects His children to produce what He hopes for, meaning He expects us to bear fruit. The evidence not seen by His children, however seen by God the Father. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1 (KJV). The seed planted in choice soil will produce fruit. This author being "good ground" received the seed, heard the word of God and understood it which bear fruit and brings forth some a hundred, some sixty some thirty Matthew 13: 23 (KJV). The book contains the evidence of seed being planted in good ground. Margaret Majors is a teacher, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her ongoing learning is equivalent to the progression of life. Like the life that is in a seed when it is planted in fertile ground and given the necessary sun/son needed for it to grow! Inspired by my heavenly Father to write about the evidence seen from this walk of faith he has for all His children. One of Margaret's main investment of time is enjoying uninterrupted time with Him. Followed by the time with her husband especially on our weekly date night that we have kept with for years, being the proof and evidence of our love affair for 35 years. Margaret has been a teacher of children all her adult life and more recently has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Studies, Form Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona.
