Callaway learned about the Appalachian Trail when he was eight years old, while listening to his mother talk about how his grandfather had always wanted to hike it. Price's work was only widely exhibited later in his life, but scholars have long admired his highly original forms. Like his better-known sculptures, these drawings feature an idiosyncratic array of amorphous shapes.
