Star Depth

Book Description

It is the year 2041, and the Earths nations have finally joined together to establish a new governing society named The United Earth Administration, for which is built on unified cooperation within a governmental foundation based on peace and unity for its separate constituents on independent governing bodies around the world. Within this administration stands a distinguished and high regarded naval officer who has served within its ranks for over 35 years in the United States Navy. His name is Admiral Wayne Cooper, and he has developed a new Naval agency called The Star Depth Navy that will help establish the prospects of the ongoing space program and their exploration into new heights of not only space travel, and its unique external exploration diversity, but to expand its internal knowledge of inner-planetary research, namely Planetary Oceans. But, while the agency progresses, along with Earths unified space program, so do adversities of an unknown nature and unknown threat. Admiral Cooper, along with his handpicked staff that he has chosen, must confront this terrifying, and incredible threat that has introduced itself as a new and promising organization that will destroy the very fabric of mankind and its right to exist.

Star Depth: Rise of the Atlanteans

Book Description

Seven years has passed, and the success of Admiral Wayne James Cooper's United Earth Star Depth Naval Agency has grown into a flourishing military organization for interplanetary service for which he had hoped it would become within the short period of years during its promising development. With the combined efforts of the Star Depth program and the United Earth Space Force Defense Fleet Agency, both branches have successfully colonized and charted several planetary star systems within the inner-rim of Milky Way galaxy. But once again an unexpected circumstance has just introduced itself as a compromising catastrophe to both the newly intergalactic armed forces of the planet earth, and its governing supervision of the newly formatted United Earth Administration as a highly more dangerous threat than ever before. An Alliance-Class, Nuclear, Carrier Submarine, one out of fifteen that has been built by the Star Depth Naval Engineering Corps, designated as the U.S.S. Typhoon, SSCN-811 has disappeared within the deep, oceanic regions of an earth like planet called Beta-Two, in a well known star system known as Alpha Centauri. Their whereabouts are unknown, and the Space Force in addition with the Star Depth Navy is considering them as missing in action during a time of an uncertain resolution with their recent conflict seven years ago with the barbaric, warrior-class aliens known as the Corrilleans. The Administration along with Admiral Cooper's military chiefs of staff have come to the conclusion that the Corrillean Empire may be involved in the disappearance of the UESDN submarine. But the five-star admiral, and chairman of the joint chiefs wants to know for certain if the Corrilleans are responsible for the abduction. Once again, he forms a conjoined task force of Space Force and Naval personnel to seek out and investigate the disappearance of the lost submarine. But little do they know as they come to grips in finding out the truth, and who is really responsible.

Lasting Screen Stars

Book Description

Lasting Stars examines the issue of stardom and longevity and investigates the many reasons for the persistence or disappearance of different star personas. Through a selection of chapters that look at issues such as inappropriate ageing, national identity and physical characteristics, this book will be the first volume to consider in depth and breadth the factors that affect the longevity of film stardom. The range of stars includes popular stars who are approached from fresh angles (Brando, Loren), less popular stars whose lower-profiles than their peers may be surprising (Taylor, Shearer) and stars whose national identity is integral to their perception as they age (Riva, Bachchan, Pavor). There are stars from the beginning of Hollywood (Valentino, Reid) to the present day (Jolie), and those who made uneasy transitions between countries (Mason), ages (Ringwald) and industrial eras (Keaton). The book examines the range of factors that affect how star images endure, including appropriate and inappropriate ageing (Griffith), race (Ice Cube) and digital technologies (Lee).
