Through the many arduous days and nights at sea, Post-Captain Winchip realizes his love for Madeleine. Are they destined to be together? Will he survive the battle to be with her once more? John Mariner was born in Oxford in 1936 and educated at Cranescourt School and St. Edmund Hall. In 1952 he opted for an RAF apprenticeship before going on to work for Oxfam. Prior to retirement in 1990 he ran a Post Office and now enjoys postcard and stamp collecting as well as writing short stories and novels. The Eaglet at the Battle of Minorca is the first part of a trilogy.
