As the cost of fuel for thawing frozen placers constitutes a large part of the total mining cost, the delay is warranted. The output of placer gold for 1915 is valued at as compared with in 19143' More than 30 gold dredges were busy in the summer of 1915, and the construction of several new ones was started.
