(Strumpet) All-n-All, All is Vanity

Book Description

This is a collection of poems by Jeffrey V. Perry, who has been writing since the tender age of seven. As a gifted young writer, he was betrayed by his own meager circumstances and the misfortunes of being young and naive. Now that he is older, he has begun to produce recent works to help complete him and his true calling. A summon is Strumpet, but also, a warning signal that must be heeded. In our times there are too many reasons for us not to stop and take notice. Too much is written on our walls and there is too much living in our streets, not to question our own lives. It is so much easier for us to just look the other way or to go for self-satisfaction than to do what we know to be best. Since we do not change, nothing gets better. In the end, we are responsible for ourselves, and we are the ones who are going to have to pay one way or another. While our truths are relative, there is an ultimate truth somewhere in this world; found only if we are brave enough to accept it.

Child of God, Telling of Truth

Book Description

"Child of God," is a phrase referred auspiciously to those seen as special in relationship with the spiritual realm, without any prior understanding or reasoning outside of this assumption. It is also left to those called, thusly, to address this call one way or another. To learn and to know one's self is immeasurable, in the least. To finally come to this conclusion in one's relationship with God, the Creator could be just the growth of a child into full adulthood. Peace is with you.

After the Love (O.L.D. & M.A.T.U.R.E.)

Book Description

After the Love is the ultimate freedom and reflection, once age and experience have become our memories. Hope is not what we await, but what we finally can give. Sometimes we are left with our age and experience as indicators of our success in life. Although even we realize that it is much more. It is also how well we have lived not just in the eyes of others, but also our self-respect, love, and understanding of what is important. If we lose these, then, what do we really have but empty dreams and empty time spent? Finding one's self is not a product of age or time. But, learning to love and accept ourselves can be. Every day we learn that we cannot deceive our self until we must face our truth. You need no mirror nor any outside help. You will only have you. This poetry is written in various styles and on different subjects. It is inspired writing on spirituality, religion, history, love, romance, and social commentary.

Redefining Justice: The Art of Listening

Book Description

A collection of poetry written with thought-provoking enthusiasm. It continues like some of my other poetry books with spiritual themes. There are also romantic poems and other conversations concerning life today, i.e. politics, money, gender bias, race, and social media. Over the past two years, I have put together these words as I observed changes in our country that I have never seen in my 64 years. It is not unusual, but more revealing than ever. I believe we should take careful note, seeing it as it is and not as a new trend. History repeats and the old become the new, while few patterns change! There is a need for a different thinking and a renewed value system that works for all!

Hue-manity black 2 white

Book Description

ONLY SAY THAT WE ARE "HUMAN!" This was the first false hood perpetrated upon us by this world that WE WERE LESS THAN HUMAN. We must re-define our culture, our race, and our attributes, but, even we have to stop determining ourselves in an overstated vernacular that only helps to compensate for any so-called deficiency. Now we assume our humanity. It is a humbling position for a human being to admit to.

Twelve Men

Book Description

"Twelve Men" was created as a part of the publishing contract of a new publisher by the famous American writer Theodore Dreiser. Dreiser proposed to publish a "book of characters" that would collect twelve biographical sketches of individuals who were major influences on him, both as a man and as a writer. As a result, the work presented here was created.
