Photochemical Processes in Polymer Chemistry - 2

Book Description

Photochemical Processes in Polymer Chemistry-2 contains invited lectures presented at the Second IUPAC Symposium on Photochemical Processes in Polymer Chemistry held at Leuven, Belgium on June 2-4, 1976. This book contains 11 papers separated as chapters. Topics include energy transfer processes; photoinitiation of polymerization; solid-state polymerization mechanisms; photoinduced ionic polymerizations; and photoconductive polymers. This text also discusses energy transfer phenomena in high polymer systems; laser spectroscopical methods for the study of primary processes during the photodegradation; photooxidation of high polymers; and reaction selectivity and molecular association in photochemical reactions of nucleic acids and their constituents. New developments in photochromic polymers and related phenomena, as well as the design of photoreactive polymer systems for imaging processes are also explained.

Non-aqueous Solutions, 5

Book Description

Non-Aqueous Solutions - 5 is a collection of lectures presented at the Fifth International Conference on Non-Aqueous Solutions held in Leeds, England, on July 5-9, 1976. The papers explore reactions in non-aqueous solutions as well as the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of non-aqueous solutions. Examples of the use of spectroscopic techniques are presented, and solutions in molten salts are given. Metals in solution and liquid metal solutions are also considered. This book is comprised of 12 chapters and begins with a review of a general scheme which considers the species formed by cation ...

Handbook of Polymer Degradation

Book Description

Covers recent advances in polymer degradation and stabilization. Focuses on the basics of photo- and bio-degradability. Delineates special and general environmental parameters such as solar irradiation, temperature, and agrochemical exposure. Surveys plastic waste disposal strategies such as recycling, incineration, chemical recovery by pyrolysis, and source reduction.

Photochemical Processes in Organized Molecular Systems

Book Description

Photochemical processes form the basis of life. Energy transfer through photons also underlies a wide range of phenomena ranging from the motion of atoms and molecules to the assembly of systems of molecules, such as polymers, Langmuir-Blodgett films and even liquid crystals.Photochemical Processes in Organized Molecular Systems provides an overview of recent photochemical investigations of systems of molecules. The book is divided into four parts: the first two deal with current progress on the understanding of photoinduced chemical processes, the third and fourth chapter deal with the photochemistry of organized molecular systems including polymers, micelles and liquid crystals. This book should be studied by all who want to know more about this promising field of photochemical research, and about the fascinating processes that light can bring about.
