With a book size of 8.5 x 8.5 inches and only 4 puzzles per page, the 400 Jigsaw Sudoku-X Puzzles series is not intended for carrying in a Pocket or Handbag. The main purpose of the extra-large book size is to provide the solver with large, clear and easy to read puzzles. The Jigsaw Sudoku Puzzles in the Medium Sudoku series of books do not require any advanced solving techniques. In my classic Jigsaw Sudoku-x puzzles, the grid is 9 cells wide and 9 cells deep. The lines of squares running horizontally are called rows, and the lines running vertically are called columns. The grid is further divided by thicker lines into irregular shapes that all contain 9 cells. However, in Jigsaw Sudoku-X puzzles there is one other element that can be used to determine the correct numbers, and that is the two diagonal lines of shaded squares that run from corner to corner. The aim of the puzzle is to fill the blank cells with the correct numbers. Each row, column, irregular shape and each shaded diagonal must end up containing all of the numbers from 1 to 9.
