A Revelation of Life Endeavors

Book Description

A Revelation of Life Endeavors is a book about finding solutions to the myriad of Secular Problems that we face in Society from dealing with deviant sexual behavior like abortions, Homosexuality, Lesbianism, Same Sex Marriages, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Drugs of all types and Description, Corruption in Churches and Government as well as all types of crime in addition to wars, rumors of Wars and Propaganda leading to Wars. What should we do about the complexities of this complex society where just a small Spark could trigger A Nuclear War that could destroy the World. How do we deal with Immigration, Separation of children from their parents, Mass Shootings in our schools and many of our communities, Poor Education in our schools and more and more young men being sent to prisons How do we handle all of this. Is the Government the solution? I am afraid not because we, the People are the Solution. I believe a Total Spiritual Revolution is needed to change the fabric of thinking in our society and it must begin with The Church. The Church must be reformed to return to its Glory when Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven and left the Church behind as the guiding Force for the Morality of mankind. We have long since departed from that role as the Church has been so watered down that Man’s Laws has almost replaced God’s Laws. Nothing is Sacred anymore, so I am afraid we are heading into a Sodom and Gommorah existence.. What can we do about it is the question. Our Organization, .Gangs For Jesus is our Solution. It teaches three Basic Principles; 1. Learn To be Humble. 2. Don’t Worship Money and Glamor and 3. Repent and Live or Stay Wicked and Die. Jesus Christ and the Life of the Mind

Book Description

In The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind (1994) Mark Noll offered a forthrightly critical assessment of the state of evangelical thinking and scholarship. Now, nearly twenty years later, in a sequel more attuned to possibilities than to problems, Noll updates his earlier assessment and charts a positive way forward for evangelical scholarship. Noll's Jesus Christ and the Life of the Mind shows how the orthodox Christology confessed in the ancient Christian creeds, far from hindering or discouraging serious scholarship, can supply the motives, guidance, and framework for learning. Christian faith, Noll argues, can richly enhance intellectual engagement in the various academic disciplines -- and he demonstrates how by applying his insights to the fields of history (his own area of expertise), science, and biblical studies in particular. In a substantial postscript Noll candidly addresses the question How fares the "evangelical mind" today? as he highlights "hopeful signs" of intellectual life in a host of evangelical institutions, individuals, and movements. -- From publisher description.

Integrative Theology

Book Description

Integrative Theology is designed to help graduate students in a pluralistic world utilize a standard method of fruitful research. Each chapter on a major doctrine: (1) states a classic issue of ultimate concern, (2) surveys alternative past and present answers and (3) tests those proposals by their congruence with information on the subject progressively revealed from Genesis to Revelation. Then the chapter (4) formulates a doctrinal conclusion that consistently fits the many lines of biblical data, (5) defends that conviction respectfully, and finally (6) explores the conclusion’s relevance to a person’s spiritual birth, growth and service to others, all for the glory of God. Why the title Integrative Theology? In each chapter, steps 2-6 integrate the disciplines of historical, biblical, systematic, apologetic and practical theology.

The Dramatizing of Theology

Book Description

Matthew Farlow traces the thoughts of Balthasar and Barth so as to enter into theological truth of God’s Being-in-Act. This exploration embarks on a journey into the reality of our Triune God who has engaged his creation so as to elicit fellow actors. God seeking out humanity is God with us, a truth that not only informs our theological endeavors, but invites us into the dramatic performance of reconciliation. As Farlow illumines, God is an acting God who seeks fellow participants in his ongoing drama of salvation. Through the dramatizing of theology, the church and her theologians come to realize God’s threefold movement—revelation, invitation and reconciliation. It is a unified act that startles humanity, and thus theology, out of its “spectator’s seat,” so as to drag it onto the world’s stage. As Farlow discusses, it is through the dramatizing of theology that we find ourselves best equipped to participate faithfully in the role of a lifetime.

A Polemical Preacher of Joy

Book Description

How is the interpreter to approach Ecclesiastes? What is the message of the author? What is the genre of Ecclesiastes? Many scholars have posited varying interpretations of the message of Ecclesiastes and have observed the number of statements that appear to be conflicting or, at least, in tension with one another. Discussions about the argument and genre label(s) in Ecclesiastes have not fully considered the author's polemics against the apocalyptic beliefs of his day, 200 B.C.E. This book will propose that the author of Ecclesiastes utilizes a hybrid genre in his work--an "anti-apocalyptic genre"--in order to further his message of joy. Jerome Douglas explores how recognizing the presence of an anti-apocalyptic genre within the tapestry of Ecclesiastes assists the interpreter in understanding the book.
