Acetaldehyde Production from Acetylene - Cost Analysis - Acetaldehyde E31A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Acetaldehyde production from acetylene. The process examined is an acetylene hydration technology similar to the one developed by Chisso. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Ethanal, Chisso, Acetylene Hydration

Acetaldehyde Production from Acetylene - Cost Analysis - Acetaldehyde E32A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Acetaldehyde production from acetylene The process examined is a typical vapor phase acetylene hydration over solid catalyst. In this process, steam is generated and mixed with acetylene. The gaseous stream is fed to fixed bed reactors in parallel, where acetylene is hydrated to form acetaldehyde. The excess of water in the reactor product is partially condensed and returned to the reactor. The gaseous stream is transferred to distillation units that recover unreacted acetylene for reuse and generate the purified acetaldehyde product. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): US Patent 3291839, issued to Phillips Petroleum in 1966 Keywords: Ethanal, Vapor Phase Acetylene Hydration, Cadmium Phosphate - Calcium Phosphate Catalyst

Acetaldehyde Production from Ethylene - Cost Analysis - Acetaldehyde E11A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Acetaldehyde production from ethylene. The process examined is a typical oxidation process. In the process, a palladium/copper catalyst system is used. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Ethanal, Wacker Process, Hoechst-Wacker Process

Acetaldehyde Production from Acetic Acid - Cost Analysis - Acetaldehyde E21A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Acetaldehyde production from acetic acid. The process examined is a typical hydrogenation process. In this process, ethyl acetate is generated as by-product. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Ethanal, Eastman Chemical, Acetic Acid Ethyl Ester

Acetic Acid Production from Acetaldehyde - Cost Analysis - Acetic Acid E11A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Acetic Acid production from acetaldehyde and oxygen The process examined is a typical liquid-phase oxidation process. In this process, the oxidation occurs with manganous acetate as catalyst. Unreacted acetaldehyde is condensed and recycled back to the reactor. The liquid product is sent to a set of distillation columns to recover the Acetic Acid. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Ethanoic Acid, Ethanal, Oxidation Reaction, Liquid-Phase Oxidation, Air

Ethyl Acetate Production from Acetaldehyde - Cost Analysis - Ethyl Acetate E41A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Ethyl Acetate production from acetaldehyde. In this process, Ethyl Acetate is produced via Tishchenko reaction, which refers to the dimerization of acetaldehyde in the presence of an alkoxide catalyst to form the ester. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): DE Patent 733884, issued to Dr. Alexander Wacker Gesellschaft für Elektrochemische Indsutrie in 1943 Keywords: Tishchenko , Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Ethanoate, Hoechst

Vinyl Acetate from Acetic Acid and Acetylene - Cost Analysis - VAM E21A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) from acetic acid and acetylene. In the process examined, acetic acid and acetylene react in the vapor phase in the presence of a supported metal catalyst to produce vinyl acetate. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) "Vinyl Esters," Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry, 7th edition (2) US Patent 3415872, issued to Blaw Knox in 1968 Keywords: Ethenyl Acetate, Ethanoic Acid, Acetylene, Wacker

Ethyl Acetate Production from Ethylene and Acid Acetic - Cost Analysis - Ethyl Acetate E31A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Ethyl Acetate production from ethylene and acetic acid. In this process, ethyl acetate is produced via a direct addition reaction of acetic acid to ethylene. The process under analysis is similar to two processes developed independently: the AVADA process, owned by INEOS and formerly owned by BP, and Showa Denko's Direct Addition Process. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): US Patent 6,794,535 issued to BP Chemicals Limited Keywords: AVADA, Ethyl Acetate, EA, BP

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Ethyl Acetate production from ethanol. The process examined is similar to the Johnson Matthey's DAVY ethyl acetate technology. In this process, Ethyl Acetate is produced in a two‐stage reaction: ethanol is dehydrogenated to acetaldehyde, which further reacts with ethanol to form Ethyl Acetate. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) US Patent 6,632,330 issued to Davy Process Technology Limited (2) US Patent 6,809,217 issued to Davy Process Technology Limited Keywords: Dehydrogenation, Ethyl Acetate, EA, DPT, Johnson Matthey
