Amazing Grace, John 1:17

Book Description

This is a true story about the salvation found through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the glory of God, and learning the meaning of the Holy Word of God. It is about how I was saved by the Grace of God through His revelation and that the path to eternal salvation is through Jesus. God does not look at our imperfections, but through the perfection of what Jesus has done on Calvary in love, faith, and hope. This message is to all who are struggling with the events of their lives. We all face unpleasant events in our lives from financial problems, marital issues, and children gone astray, and so on. Jesus teaches us our battles are not flesh and blood but are spiritual. Through prayer, hope, and accepting Jesus into our lives, each one of us will experience our own victories. The divine love God has for us will lead us and guide our hearts and souls into the arms of Jesus Christ. Satan will attempt to confuse us. He will try to divide and conquer us. By accepting Jesus Christ, you will always have an ally in the battle, and in the end, Satan will lose. I pray through my faith in Jesus Christ that you will find the answers to all your struggles. I hope and pray that by sharing my personal experiences, the struggles, and battles that I have faced and I am facing to this day, that it will give comfort to know that there is no depth, no height, and no darkness that can keep you from the destiny of Gods call in your life.

Future Grace, Revised Edition

Book Description

Explore this stunning quality of God’s grace: It never ends! In this revision of a foundational work, John Piper reveals how grace is not only God’s undeserved gift to us in the past, but also God’s power to make good happen for us today, tomorrow, and forever. True life for the follower of Jesus really is a moment-by-moment trust that God is dependable and fulfills his promises. This is living by faith in future grace, which provides God's mercy, provision, and wisdom—everything we need—to accomplish his good plans for us. In Future Grace, chapter by chapter—one for each day of the month—Piper reveals how cherishing the promises of God helps break the power of persistent sin issues like anxiety, despondency, greed, lust, bitterness, impatience, pride, misplaced shame, and more. Ultimate joy, peace, and hope in life and death are found in a confident, continual awareness of the reality of future grace.

Amazing Grace

Book Description

“Grace and truth came [or subsists] through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17b ASV, and Darby in brackets). The Greek word for “came” is "ginomai" which means “has come”—signifying that that which before had never actually been in being in the world now begins to be so. In other words, grace actually commenced to be, yet not in God’s mind, of course, but in revelation and actual existence down here on the earth (see Darby’s footnote discussion on “subsists” in John 1:17). Mankind could not fully understand what divine grace is till it was revealed in Jesus Christ; nor could believing mankind fully apprehend the depth of that grace till it be found in Christ Jesus. Even today this so great salvation continually amazes those of us who have been touched by God’s grace. In August 1937 brother Watchman Nee gave a series of ten messages in Singapore on the Biblical theme of Amazing Grace. They were greatly appreciated at that time by those who heard. Now they have been translated into English for the benefit of the English-speaking world. May God use these messages to strengthen our faith.

God's Amazing Grace, Loving Mercy & Abiding Peace

Book Description

The purpose of my autobiography is to give my heart-felt thanks to the Lord for what He has done for me for the past 60 years beginning from 1950 when I became a Christian during the war of Pohang in the boundary of life and death to 2010 when I officially closed the Lord's ministry as pastor of International Bible Church in Los Angeles. The desire of writing this book is totally on my own, for neither did the Lord ever ask me to write this book, nor did He ever need this book to be written. When a person receives God's amazing grace, loving mercy and abiding peace, in him is welling up a spring of water of thanksgiving from his inner heart without ceasing until he shares its amazing grace and loving mercy and abiding peace with others. This is just what I have done in this book. I am giving the Lord my heart-felt thanksgiving for the 20 miracles that have happened to me for the past 60 years without which I wouldn't be here today. To God be the glory and honor forever, Amen! Mark E. Oh, PhD, DMin, is a graduate of Keimyung University (Korea), San Francisco Theological Seminary, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Western Seminary, California Graduate School of Theology, and Fuller Theological Seminary. Married to the former Rosemary McGuire in 1965. They have two sons and four grand children; is the Founder & Pastor of International Bible Church in Los Angeles (1972-2010) for more than 38 years. Served as First President of Christ Bible College, 2002-2009. Retired from active ministry in 2009. Serves as pastor emeritus since 2010.

God of Love and God of Judgement

Book Description

How can a God of love also be a God of judgment? If God loves everyone, what is the point of judgment? Does God change from being wrathful in the Old Testament to loving in the New Testament? Can we discern God's judgments in current events, such as hurricanes and personal tragedies? Is it ever right for humans to judge? These are not just daunting issues for theologians to ponder. They are urgent questions for everyone. Our answers profoundly affect how we relate to God and how we live with one another. Coming to grips with these issues is vital for our spiritual journeys. Many people today emphasize God's love and downplay his judgment. The problem with this approach is that God's judgment is taught in Scripture from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation, and it is a core part of the gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles. There are problems at the other end of the spectrum too, when we believe in a God of judgment who is not also a God of love. It is impossible for us to find spiritual peace when we live in constant dread of God, pictured as a harsh judge whom we can never please. This book calls us to embrace a more full, biblical image of God--one that joins his love and judgment together. Additionally, the book shows that, as those who are made in God's image, we can fuse love and judgment together constructively in our own daily lives.
