Book Description

An archaeological survey (Phase II) was conducted for Mr. Bill Scott prior to the development of residential lots on Daufuskie Island. ; Phase I is titled "Archaeological Investigation of a 22-acre tract on Daufuskie" by William Green. Results indicate that archaeological sites 38BU1904, 38BU1905, & 38BU1906 are not eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. The Maryfield Cemetery, also located within the project tract, is considered to be a key property in the Daufuskie Island Historic District and may be adversely affected by the proposed undertaking. The remaining properties in the historic district will not be affected by the proposed construction.
