NAEP Reporting Practices


Book Description

At the request of the Department of Education, the National Research Council formed the Committee on NAEP Reporting Practices to address questions about the desirability, feasibility, and potential impact of implementing these reporting practices. The committee developed study questions designed to address issues surrounding district-level and market-basket reporting.

Book Description

Volume 1 of the fall 1997 annual survey tabulates information about each state's assessment program during the 1996-97 school year. This volume contains the survey sent to state assessment directors, which was completed by representatives of all 50 states, and a summary table that lists the types of programs in each state. A list of state assessment directors is also provided. Data tables contain responses in table form, grouped into "General Concerns" and "Special Topics." Volume 2 contains data about program components and an order form. It provides information about the components of the states' assessment programs, grouped into the following categories: (1) "Who Is Assessed, When, and How"; (2) "Assessment Purposes"; (3) "Performance Standards"; (4) "Students with Disabilities Exemptions and Accommodations"; (5) "LEP Students Exemptions and Accommodations"; and (6) "Assessment Results Reporting."
