Bangla Magic

Book Description

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. There is no substitute for getting a chance at a public university if you want to keep up with the current competition. But now getting a chance at university has become as difficult as getting a golden deer. I wrote this book to make this difficult path easier. Just as it is true that you have to study a lot to get a chance in university, it is also true that many students do not get a chance even after studying a lot. The main reason for this is that ‘students study a lot but do more unnecessary studies.’ It should be kept in mind that this is a university admission test, not a BCS Exam. So in order to do well in the university admission test, I have written books in the magic series only with what is needed in the university admission test. As this book (Bangla Magic) is smaller in size as compared to other books in the market, I think students will be able to finish the syllabus easily and get good results in the exam. No unnecessary topics are covered in the book, so no part of this book should be left out. The Bangla Magic book has easy presentation of many difficult subjects, especially difficult ones through rhyme which will help all the students to remember easily. Also all the information in the book has been updated according to the new Bengali grammar. This book presents all the changes that have taken place in the new Bengali grammar and the changes that should have taken place in answer to last year's question as a result of those changes are given in this book. And since the admission test topics are very similar to the job test, I think this book will also help you a lot in preparing for the flight test. I think my hard work and effort will be successful only if the students benefit from reading this book. Since no book other than the Qur'an alone is perfect, nor is it above human error, so if there is any error in the book despite reluctance, it will be forgiven.

The Book of Ceremonial Magic

Book Description

The Book of Ceremonial Magic - Arthur Edward Waite - The Book of Ceremonial Magic by Arthur Edward Waite was originally called The Book of Black Magic and of Pacts. It was first published in a limited run in 1898, and distributed more widely under the title The Book of Ceremonial Magic in 1910Writing in the late 19th century, Waite had studiously researched many obscure tenets of magic. Much of this book concerns the obscure occult tomes, which the author condenses and presents to readers in this single volume. Waite's studies uncover a variety of knowledge; there are thousands of spells and rituals that date back to Medieval times and have a theological basis. Many exist to ward off devils, witches or other evil phenomena, while others seek to conjure beneficent spirits. Another intriguing aspect of ceremonial magic is the ability to form pacts with supernatural beings. These rituals in themselves act to compel supernatural entities to assist a human being; none of them involve offering one's soul. However, many require one or more materials and ingredients to begin - grave dust or a certain plant for instance. Waite disapproves of those who reprint and sell the older magical grimoires for two principle reasons. Firstly the quality of the English translations is low, often proscribing completely different instructions and requisites for a given ritual than was given in the original source text. Secondly these books make no distinction between 'white' or 'black' magic; such lack of organization makes it difficult for the modern reader to distinguish the practices. Over 150 symbols, seals, insignia, charts and other illustrations populate this text, each offering insight into how the magician correctly undertakes his tasks. Waite includes many scripts that the performer of magic must read out loud as he attempts to conjure, summon or communicate with forces from other planes of existence.

There are sizeable communities of Bengalis scattered all over the world. Altogether, the number of native speakers make Bangla the fifth or sixth largest language in the world. Like Hindi and other South Asian languages, Bangla has subject-object-verb word order, postpositions, causative and compound verbs. Unlike Hindi it has no gender. This volume presents a systematic overview of the language, from the sound system to parts of speech, syntactic categories to reduplicative features and some short text passages. The book is written in transliteration throughout to provide ease and convenience to non-Bengali as well as to Bengali linguists and students. Kahani

Book Description

Pakistan's finest women writers - Jamila Hashmi, Mumtaz Shirin, and Fahmida Riaz, amongst others - introduce us to the compelling cadences of a rich literary culture. A naive peasant is left with a white man's baby; a frustrated housewife slashes her husband's silk pyjamas; a middle-class woman sees visions of salvation in the tricks of circus animals ... Equally at ease with polemic and lyricism, these writers mirror the events of their convoluted history - nationalism and independence, wars with India, the creation of Bangladesh, the ethnic conflicts in Karachi - in innovative and courageous forms. Influenced both by the Indian and Islamic traditions of their milieu and by the shocking impact of modernity, they are distinguished above all by their artistic integrity and intellectual honesty. 'An excellent anthology by Urdu's foremost women writers' Muneeza Shamsie, Newsline 'I hope that this engaging and diverse work will encourage other translations of contemporary Pakistani fiction.'
