The principal doctrines defining Mormonism today often bear little resemblance to those it started out with in the early 1830s. Diary of Frederick William Hurst (b.1833), a Mormon and the son of William Hurst and Mary Ann Green. He immigrated, with his parents, from the Isle of Jersey near England to Wellington, New Zealand in 1839/1840, and in 1853 immigrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, where he became a Mormon convert, and immigrated to Hawaii in 1855. He served a mission in the Sandwich Islands, moved to Beaver, Utah in 1847, married Aurelia Hawkins in 1858, and moved to Salt Lake City. He served a mission to New Zealand in 1875/1877, and returned to live in Salt Lake City. Died in Logan, Utah.
