John received the Revelation from Jesus Christ in the late AD 60's and Jesus told him that the things he was about to show him must shortly come to pass. It is the position of this book that they have come to pass. John said, "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife." Revelation 21:9 He saw something that was about to happen and has not been delayed into the future from our day as some purport.In this book Dr. Henry seeks to search the Scriptures and identify the bride, discover where she is now and learn what she will be doing for all eternity. The views presented in this book are from the paradigm of full preterism. For many years Dr. Henry followed the views of dispensational pre-millennialism, but had to change his mind after, like Apollos, he came to understand the way of God more perfectly. This book is an effort to show, by the scriptures, what the Bible reveals about the bride (the church), her relationship to Christ and the activity in which her members will be engaged while on this earth and when they join their Lord in that place He has prepared for them.Large amounts of Scripture are quoted in this book, as is true with all of Dr. Henry's books. He believes that men can make mistakes, but when God says something it is true. Paul said, "For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."
