Book Description

Describes the history of the library of the Ontario Legislative Assembly, from its beginnings as a small book collection to assist members of the legislature of the Province of Upper Canada, through its merger with the Lower Canada Assembly and Council libraries in the Province of Canada period (1841-67), to its activities in the Province of Ontario since Confederation. The role of the library as a public resource is also noted, and biographies of the librarians are included throughout.
