Book Description
Excerpt from Description of the Holy Land The writer's language is ordinary mediaeval Latin, but is somewhat less polished than that of Theoderich. Many of his descriptions are clear and distinct, and such as could only have been written by an educated man. We cannot give much praise to his arrangement of his materials, which is extremely confused. He makes several allusions to the seven seals of the Revelation of St. John, all of which have been omitted in the present edition.
