Accredited Paramedic Programs are required to provide orientation & training of field internship preceptors. This book covers the topics necessary to meet this requirement. Topics include the purpose of the student field rotations, the definition of team lead, criteria of evaluation for grading students, and coaching and mentorship techniques. Accredited programs must also provide evidence of preceptor training completion. As an option for verifying training, in the back of the book is an assessment that can be copied and completed by each preceptor, and kept on file by the paramedic program director.
