In Erin go bragh II, The Middle of an Era, 1975 - 1982, the American student who earned a degree from Trinity, returns to Ireland with his family. The security forces in the North seek his brother-in-law, Danny Conlon, an IRA sniper. Rudy goes to Canada to rescue Danny. He in turn is rescued by an old friend while back in the North of Ireland, and Danny avenges Rudy's arrest and mistreatment.
