Fetish Bubblegirls presents the work of internationally recognized graffiti artist Tilt in an unabashedly new, colorful, and playful volume. Graffiti has always been an inherently dangerous, high-wire act - the execution of art in risky, often illegal situations. And one could argue for a strong parallel that exists between the classic graffiti writings extensive use of bubbly, curvaceous shapes and the female form. The French born graf writer obsessively explores these tensions and parallels in Fetish Bubblegirls as he explores the world in search of beautiful young canvases on which to execute his art. Although this mission straddles the globe, there is a common thread that emerges as the most striking detail of the project - the openness and balance between innocence and playfulness and sexuality and the highly charged environment that all of the models inhabit. Tilt is a member of the all-star French artists collective Le Club.

This publication documents Invader's second largest invasion with 104 Space Invaders, Los Angeles, a city in complete contrast to Paris, the birthplace of the invasion. Being a city of cars rather than walking, the style of the invasion had to be modified, using larger mosaics and reflective tiles.

The Velvet Underground and Nico has influenced the sound of more bands than any other album. And remarkably, it still sounds as fresh and challenging today as it did upon its release in 1967. In this book, Joe Harvard covers everything from Lou Reed's lyrical genius to John Cale's groundbreaking instrumentation, and from the creative input of Andy Warhol to the fine details of the recording process. With input from co-producer Norman Dolph and Velvets fan Jonathan Richman, Harvard documents the creation of a record which - in the eyes of many - has never been matched. EXCERPT In 1966, some studios, like Abbey Road, had technicians in white lab coats, and even the less formal studios usually had actual engineering graduates behind the consoles. Studios were still more about science than art. Clients who dared make technical suggestions were treated with bemusement, derision, or hostility. The Velvets were a young band under constant critical attack, and the pressure to conform in order to gain acceptance must have been tremendous. Most bands of that era compromised with their record companies, through wholesale revamping of their image from wardrobe to musical style, changing or omitting lyrics, creating drastically edited versions for radio airplay, or eliminating songs entirely from their sets and records. With Andy Warhol in the band's corner, such threats were minimized.

Forensic art may be defined as 'portrait art minus a tangible subject.' The main objective of this book is to present a series of practical indices interrelating the key features of the human face that will provide a foundation for any exercise in forensic art from composite sketch to post-mortem 're-facing.' These indices are illustrated with a survey of the numerous and often surprising geometric forms that permeate facial design. The various triangles and rectangles, rhomboids and trapezoids, parallelograms and circles that define the human face (the theme) and give it individuality (variations on the theme) are examined. The chapters provide necessary information to define the cephalometric points, planes, areas and lines that demarcate the human face, including the detailed surface anatomy of the eye, nose, mouth and ear. The underlying geometry of the human facial plan is revealed, illustrating a selection of triangles, rectangles, and other polygons. The graphic facial analysis (GFA) of the frontal face is covered, with sixteen indices and triangles defining and illustrating their means and ranges of variation. The GFA details the lateral face by means of eight angles and indices with special attention given to the nose and ear. With 45 illustrations and two tables in this clear and comprehensive text, this book leaves little to the imagination and is truly a unique treatise and source of information.
