Excerpt: ... BENJAMIN C. NICOLL T the age of seventy-three years, Benjamin C. Nicoll passed to the reward which awaits the just man, and a life of great usefulness closed. He was born in 1842, and died March 2, 1915, being yet the able and capable president of Charles F. Eareckson & Company, one of Baltimore's leading commercial houses. He had been a resident of Baltimore all his life, and was a descendant of an ancient English family. During the War between the States he enlisted and served in the United States Navy, and was a part of the attacking force at Fort Fisher. He was a member of the Veteran Naval Corps and the Royal Arcanum. He is survived by three brothers, one of them, Rev. William Nicoll, now living at York Road and Hutchins avenue, Baltimore.
