Book Description
The Task Group was formed in 1980 when the National Library of Canada embarked on a major long-term program to assist and promote library systems interconnections across Canada. This report provides a short account of the work of the Task Group over the three years ended December 1989, including a general status report on open systems interconnection (OSI) standards; the issues involved in the development of OSI application protocols; an update on the progress made in protocol implementation; and an indication of future directions and significant new activities which may require the Task Group's attention, including a proposed work program.
