Book Description

Guide to the design and preparation of plans and specifications for sewage works and sewage collection and treatment systems. It lists and suggests limiting values for items upon which an evaluation of such plans and specifications will be made by the reviewing authority, and establishes, as far as practicable, uniformity of practice in New Brunswick with practice in other parts of Canada and the United States. The document is based on Standards adopted by the Great Lakes-Upper Mississippi River, Board of State Sanitary Engineers (1978), with input from Ontario, the U.S. and Canadian federal departments also taken into consideration. Detailed information is given on design of sewers, sewage pumping stations, sewage treatment works, screening, grit removal, and flow equalization, settling, sludge handling and disposal, and biological treatment.
