Describes the present Lake County area, but is divided out from the original work which was about the larger Napa County. Topography, climate, geography, and general history are discussed. Individual townships, which include the various towns/cities, contain histories, geography, and other discussions about the areas. Included are biographical sketches of many of the prominent early pioneer families. Several of the more prominent settlers have their portraits pictured in the volume.
