The most important event of this century associated with S. R. Ranganathan was his Birth Centenary year 1992. The Birth Centenary Celebrations of this.World librarian" were the Third International Conference of Informetrics in August, 1991 at Bangalore. In 1992, a spurt of activities started by library Science Schools, library associations and various other bodies to celebrate his Birth Centenary in variety of ways and befitting manner, such as organisation of seminars and lectures, release of stamp, bust installation and the like, including organisation of IFLA Annual conference in India at the time of 58th IFLA General Conferring in 1992 to mark Ranganathan's Birth Centenary year. The birth Centenary year produced a plethora of library and information literature. The spill over of the publication of literature on and about Ranaganathan continued in 1993 and even up to first quarter of 1994 resulting in more literature on Ranganathan. The aim of this publication has been to identify and arrange together all these relevant materials on and about the life and works of Ranganathan and impact of Ranganathan's contribution on librarianship, comparative librarianship and other aspects of the Library and Information Science. Relevant articles published during these years in foreign journals, souvenirs and other sources have also been included, excluding contributions in languages other than English, and dissertations and Ph.D. theses. It is hoped that this bibliography will be of immense value to world's library and information professionals in updating their Information bank' about the S.R. Ranganathan's life and contribution and Ranganathan's impact in our field.
